Chen
Lihua, Chairwoman of HongKong Fuhua International Group Co., Ltd.,
was born in Beijing in 1949, Chinese Man Nationality, Honorary Doctor
of the Safana Design Institute of Arts in Georgia, USA, Member of
the 8th and 9th State Political Consultative Conferences, Member of
the Central Government State Unification Commission, Member of the
China Association of Industry and Commerce, Honorary Chairwoman of
the China Society of Man Nationality.
Ms. Chen settled in HongKong in the 1970s, having cultivated in HongKong
commercial field for several decades, and established the multinational
HongKong Fuhua International Group Co., Ltd. With businesses in real
estate, tourism, trade and catering, and subsidiary companies in Australia,
Southeast Asia and China's Mainland, HongKong Fuhua International
Group Co., Ltd.consists of HongKong Fuhua Company, HongKong Fuhua
Investment (China) Co., Ltd., Beijing Fuhua Furniture Enterprise Co.,
Ltd., Beijing Changan Club, Beijing Lee Court Apartment Company, Beijing
Fuhua Property Development Company, Beijing Fuhua Jarding Aviation
Service Co., Ltd., Beijing Yongjiali Decoration Engineering Company,
Beijing China Red Sandalwood Museum, HongKong Fuhua Hotel Management
Co., Ltd. and Fuhua Australia Branch.
Of her numerous investment projects, it is the China Red Sandalwood
Museum founded recently that she put in most of her energies. Since
1976, Ms. Chen has begun running a plant to imitate and make red sandalwood
furniture according to that in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and formed
Beijing Fuhua Furniture Enterprise Co., Ltd. officially in 1990. All
the furniture, made of expensive red sandalwood, are produced by means
of the Chinese traditional workmanship, and sculpted by skillful craftsmen
from all over the country, especially the success of the large scale
red sandalwood sculpture "Qing Ming Shang He Tu" (Picture
of a Busy Market in the Capital City of Song Dynasty), which caused
a sensation at home and abroad. Evaluated by experts of the Palace
Museum, it has an extremely high value for collection, and is a rare
art treasure. Due to Chen lihua's outstanding contribution to the
Chinese traditional culture, she was known as "queen of red sandalwood
in China" by overseas media. To better preserve and research
Ming and Qing furniture, Chen Lihua invested 200 million yuan in building
the China Red Sandalwood Museum beside the Jingtong Highway in Beijing,
which opened to the public on September 19,1999. With nearly a thousand
furniture selections displayed, which are mostly red sandalwood furniture
of Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Museum becomes the first place in
the world where Chinese classical furniture is collected, displayed
and researched, which is also a precious tribute to the 50th Anniversary
of New China and the return of Macao to China.
